Il dit que \u00ab\u00a0<em>la loi est sainte et le commandement saint juste et bon<\/em><a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>\u00bb, avant d\u2019affirmer que \u00ab\u00a0<em>le commandement qui m\u00e8ne \u00e0 la vie se trouva pour moi mener \u00e0 la mort<\/em><a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a><em>\u00a0\u00bb. <\/em>Les deux affirmations sont vraies.<\/p>\n<p>La loi est sainte parce qu\u2019il n\u2019y a pas de vie commune sans loi. En bon juif, Paul a appris que le mot <em>loi, Torah,<\/em> \u00e9voque la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction de Dieu pour son peuple. Avant d\u2019\u00eatre une obligation, la loi est un don.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019un autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, il est aussi vrai que la loi a men\u00e9 Paul \u00e0 la mort puisque c\u2019est en croyant lui ob\u00e9ir qu\u2019il en est venu \u00e0 pers\u00e9cuter le Dieu auquel il croyait. Parce qu\u2019il a v\u00e9cu dans sa chair l\u2019\u00e9chec de la loi, Paul a \u00e9t\u00e9 intransigeant contre tous ceux qui voulaient r\u00e9introduire des obligations l\u00e9gales dans la premi\u00e8re \u00c9glise\u00a0: \u00ab<em>\u00a0Que personne ne vous juge \u00e0 propos de ce que vous mangez ou buvez, pour une question de f\u00eate, de nouvelle lune ou de sabbat<\/em><a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Pour penser l\u2019articulation entre la loi et la foi, nous pouvons reprendre son raisonnement de l\u2019\u00e9p\u00eetre aux Galates\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0<em>Avant que la foi vienne, nous \u00e9tions gard\u00e9s sous la loi, enferm\u00e9s, en vue de la foi qui allait \u00eatre r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e. Ainsi la loi a \u00e9t\u00e9 notre surveillant jusqu&rsquo;au Christ, pour que nous soyons justifi\u00e9s en vertu de la foi. La foi \u00e9tant venue, nous ne sommes plus soumis \u00e0 un surveillant<\/em><a href=\"#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a>.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Ces versets mettent en tension la loi et la foi. Ils affirment que, tant que nous ne sommes pas dans la foi, la loi est une protection qui nous garde\u00a0; mais quand nous sommes dans la foi, la loi devient inutile. Prenons un exemple. La foi dit d\u2019aimer son prochain et la loi dit de le respecter. Tant que je suis dans la foi et que j\u2019aime mon prochain, je n\u2019ai pas besoin de la loi. Mais je sais que je ne suis pas toujours dans la foi et qu\u2019il arrive des moments o\u00f9 je n\u2019arrive pas \u00e0 aimer. C\u2019est \u00e0 ce moment que la loi intervient pour me dire que, si je n\u2019aime pas mon prochain, je dois au moins le respecter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> Rm 7.12.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref2\" name=\"_ftn2\">[2]<\/a> Rm 7.10.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref3\" name=\"_ftn3\">[3]<\/a> Col 2.16.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref4\" name=\"_ftn4\">[4]<\/a> Ga 3.23-25.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dans l\u2019\u00e9p\u00eetre aux Romains, Paul affirme deux positions contradictoires.
