Il reste pour nous un scandale, en sachant qu\u2019\u00e9tymologiquement, le scandale, <em>skandalon <\/em>en grec, est le caillou sur lequel on bute et qui nous fait tomber.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9vangile ne propose pas une th\u00e9orie sur le mal, il ne nous apporte pas une explication, en revanche il ne l\u2019ignore pas. Il raconte que le Christ, celui qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 appel\u00e9 <em>Parole de Dieu, fils de Dieu, Seigneur et sauveur du monde<\/em>, celui-l\u00e0 a \u00e9t\u00e9 condamn\u00e9, broy\u00e9, crucifi\u00e9, \u00e9cras\u00e9 par les forces du mal.<\/p>\n<p>Ce fait singularise le christianisme quand on le compare avec les autres religions.<\/p>\n<p>Selon la tradition, Mo\u00efse est mort face \u00e0 la terre promise, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de cent vingt ans, sans que sa vue se soit brouill\u00e9e ni que sa vigueur ait diminu\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le Bouddha est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e0 quatre-vingts ans, au milieu de ses disciples, apr\u00e8s avoir r\u00e9uni une grande communaut\u00e9 de moines et de moniales.<\/p>\n<p>Confucius, revenu vers la fin de sa vie \u00e0 Lou d\u2019o\u00f9 il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 chass\u00e9, s\u2019\u00e9teint apr\u00e8s s\u2019\u00eatre consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la formation d\u2019un groupe de disciples et \u00e0 la r\u00e9daction de son enseignement.<\/p>\n<p>Mahomet, enfin, apr\u00e8s avoir savour\u00e9 les derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es de sa vie comme chef politique de l\u2019Arabie, meurt dans son harem, dans les bras de sa favorite.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00e9sus est mort jeune, condamn\u00e9 par les Romains, trahi et reni\u00e9 par ses disciples, abandonn\u00e9 par les religieux de son temps. Il meurt d\u2019un supplice qui reste parmi les plus barbares que la cruaut\u00e9 des hommes ait invent\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>La croix est la r\u00e9ponse que Dieu a apport\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nigme du mal. Au lieu de supprimer ses ennemis, il a pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 se laisser crucifier.<\/p>\n<p>Cette logique paradoxale a accompagn\u00e9 les premiers chr\u00e9tiens. \u00c0 travers les luttes, les dangers et les souffrances, ils ont v\u00e9cu dans l\u2019assurance que Dieu partageait leur chemin.
